Slack integration

Post design feedback to Slack

Connect your workspace and client activity starts landing in the Slack channels your team already lives in. A new comment, an approval, a request for changes — each one shows up where people will actually see it, not buried in a dashboard nobody thinks to open.

Comments and replies in Slack

A client's comment posts to the channel you choose. Their replies thread underneath the original message, so a back-and-forth reads as one threaded conversation, not a dozen scattered pings.

Approvals and change requests

When a client approves a version or asks for changes, that decision posts straight to your approvals channel — the one update in the thread you really don't want to miss.

Separate channels per event

Route comments to one channel and approval decisions to another, or point both at the same place. You set the channel for each in your integration settings.

You decide what posts

Independent toggles cover comments, thread replies, and approval decisions — plus whether your own designer comments get mirrored too. Turn on the activity you want in Slack and leave the rest quiet.

Client feedback almost always arrives while you're heads-down in something else. By the time you open the dashboard, a “can we ship this?” has been sitting for hours. Posting to Slack closes that gap. The comment or the approval shows up in the channel your team already keeps open, next to the rest of the project chatter, and the person who needs to act sees it without going looking. If you're tightening up how sign-off actually happens, it slots into your design approval workflow rather than replacing it.

How it works

Connected in three steps

Step 1

Connect Slack

From your dashboard integrations page, click Connect and authorize Aligno in your Slack workspace.

Step 2

Pick your channels

Choose a comments channel and an approvals channel. For a private channel, invite the bot with /invite @Aligno so it appears in the list.

Step 3

Set what posts

Flip the toggles for comments, thread replies, approvals, and your own comments. Save, and review activity starts flowing into Slack.

Your Slack token is stored securely and is never exposed to clients or reviewers.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What does the Slack integration post?
New client comments, threaded replies, approvals, and change requests. You control each of these with independent toggles, so you can post only what your team cares about.
Can I send comments and approvals to different channels?
Yes. You set a comments channel and an approvals channel separately. You can point them at the same channel or keep them apart, and either one is optional.
Does it work with private channels?
Yes. Invite the Aligno bot to the private channel with /invite @Aligno in Slack, then reload your integration settings and the channel will appear in the list.
Will my own comments post to Slack?
Only if you want them to. There's a dedicated toggle to mirror the comments you leave as the designer, in addition to your clients' comments. It's separate from the client-comment posting.
How are replies handled?
When thread-reply mirroring is on, a reply posts as a Slack thread under the original comment's message, so the back-and-forth stays grouped instead of flooding the channel.
Do my clients need Slack?
No. Slack is just for your team. Clients still review through a no-account Aligno share link and never touch Slack.
