How Aligno works: documentation & getting started

Aligno is a design feedback and client approval tool for freelancers and agencies. Here is how Aligno works in one line: you upload a design, PDF, video, or live site, share a no-login link, collect pinned feedback, and get a recorded approval.

It is built for the end of the design process, when you need a clear "yes" instead of another revision round. How Aligno works in 3 steps

Step 1

Upload your work

Add an image, multi-page PDF, video, or a live webpage URL to a project. Each asset gets its own viewer and feedback thread. See projects and versions.

Step 2

Share a no-login link

Generate a share link and send it to your client. They open it and review right away, no account required. More in the client experience.

Step 3

Collect feedback and a decision

Clients pin comments directly on the work, then choose Approve or Request Changes. The decision is recorded against the version they reviewed. See feedback and approvals.

Projects
A project groups everything for one piece of client work, like a homepage redesign or a logo concept. Inside a project you add assets and share them for review.
Assets and versions
An asset is the thing being reviewed: an image, PDF, video, or live webpage. When you make changes, you upload a new version, and the earlier feedback and approval history stays intact so you keep a clear, accountable trail.
Share links (no client account)
Every asset is reviewed through a share link. Clients click it and start commenting with no sign-up. You can optionally add a password or an expiry date for sensitive work.
Pinned comments and markup
Reviewers click directly on the work to drop a comment exactly where they mean it, or draw a box, arrow, or freehand mark. It works on an image, a PDF page, a video frame at a specific timestamp, or a live web element, so feedback stays anchored in context instead of buried in email.
Approvals
Approval is an explicit action, not a guess from the comments. The client chooses Approve or Request Changes, and that decision is recorded against the exact version with a timestamp. That record is your protection against scope creep.

Frequently asked questions

QDo clients need an account to use Aligno?
No. Clients open a share link and start reviewing right away. There is no sign-up or password to create. Skipping that step is a big reason reviews come back faster.
QWhat can I upload to Aligno?
Aligno supports four asset types: images (PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF up to 10MB), PDF documents (up to 50MB), videos (MP4, MOV, WebM up to 100MB), and live webpages by URL. Each asset type has its own viewer with pinned commenting, including timestamp pins on video.
QIs there a free plan?
