What Clients See

A designer's guide to the client experience. Know exactly what your clients see and can do when you share a design.

The key thing to know
Your clients don't need an account. They just click the link you send them. No signup and no password to remember.

The Share Page Experience

When a client opens your share link, they see a clean, focused view of your design. The interface is simple enough that most clients figure it out in seconds.

What your client sees when they open a share link: a clean review interface with no account required.

The page shows:

  • Your design, front and center, whether it's an image, PDF, video, or webpage
  • Comment tools, a sidebar or panel for leaving feedback
  • Approval buttons, clear options to approve or request changes
  • Their name field, so feedback is attributed (no account needed)

What Clients CAN Do

View the current version
See your design exactly as you shared it. Images display at full quality, PDFs open with page navigation and zoom, videos play with a scrubbable timeline, and webpages show live previews.
Leave comments
Add general feedback or pin comments to specific parts of the design, including a precise timestamp on videos. Comments are attributed to the name they enter.
Submit an approval decision
Approve the design to signal it's ready to proceed, or request changes to indicate revisions are needed.
View existing comments
See feedback from other reviewers (if multiple people have the link).

What Clients CANNOT Do

Clients have a focused, limited view. That's on purpose. It keeps the experience simple and prevents accidents.

Edit the design
Clients can only view and comment. They cannot modify your work in any way.
Delete or edit comments
Once a comment is submitted, it's there for the record. Clients can add new comments but not remove existing ones.
Access other projects or assets
Each share link is isolated. Clients only see the specific design you shared, not your dashboard or other work.
See version history
Clients see only the current version. Previous versions and their comments are not visible to them.
Change settings or permissions
Share settings, passwords, and expiry dates are controlled by you, the designer.

Optional Share Settings

You can customize what clients see and how they access the share link:

  • Password protection: require a password before viewing. Useful for sensitive work.
  • Expiry date: automatically disable the link after a certain date. Good for time-sensitive reviews.
  • Disable comments: turn off commenting if you only need an approval, not feedback.
