Limitations & Expectations
We believe in being upfront about what Aligno can and cannot do. Here's what you should know.
Supported Asset Types
Aligno works with images, PDFs, videos, and live webpages. Here's what's currently supported:
Webpage Preview Limitations
When you add a webpage URL, Aligno creates a live preview. This works well for most sites, but there are some limitations:
- Some sites block embedding.Sites with strict security headers (like banks or social media) won't display. You'll see an error message.
- Login-protected pages.Most login-protected pages won't work. You'll see an error message.
- Interactive elements. Forms and buttons may not work in the preview. The focus is on visual review, not functionality testing.
- Dynamic content. Content that changes based on user data or time may appear differently than expected.
- Chrome extension workaround. For blocked or broken live previews, use our Chrome extension mode to review the real site directly while still saving comments to Aligno.
Chrome Extension Workaround
If a webpage cannot be rendered correctly through the proxy, you can switch to the Chrome extension workflow:
- Install the Aligno Chrome extension from the Chrome Web Store.
- Paste the share link in the extension popup.
- Open the live website and leave pinned comments there.
Comments stay tied to the same asset and share link. This mode is currently focused on pinned comments for webpage assets.
Plan Limits
Projects are unlimited on every plan. Metering happens on two dimensions: asset count and total storage. Here's what happens around the asset cap:
- At limit. On Free, after your one asset, you won't be able to add another until you upgrade.
- Existing work. Your existing asset, comments, and share link keep working. The cap only affects creating new assets.
- Pro. Pro removes the asset cap entirely.
Storage is metered by the total size of your uploaded files:
- Free — 200 MB. Enough for a single asset of any supported type.
- Pro — 100 GB. Plenty of headroom for image, PDF, and video review across many clients.
- Studio — 1 TB. Room for large agency libraries across images, PDFs, and video. Need more? Talk to us.
- At limit.New uploads are blocked once you'd exceed your plan's storage. Existing files stay accessible — remove files or upgrade to free up space. Linked webpages don't count toward storage.
